Every year, I plan a few tradeshows to ensure that I am always up to date with the home industry’s cutting edge products. This year, TheNKBA sponsored KBIS2014 (The Kitchen and Bath Industry Show) and the NAHB’s IBS (International Builder’s Show) combined the show to make up the Design and Construction Week (DCW), I decided to attend this particular event. Unfortunately for me, I was only able to attend the first half of the week and with so much to see, I was only able to focus on the KBIS half.
This blog is Part 1 of the KBIS2014 event and will focus on the social events prior to the actual tradeshow exhibit. Please follow back for product highlights I’ve seen on the exhibit floor.
Shall we start? Las Vegas. Need I say more?
Monday started with an event called #ModenusTalks which Veronika Miller spear-headed. I was delighted when I received the invitation to take part in this inaugural event. I had no idea that I would be in such great company not only with Veronika, but also with Leanne Woodman and many other friends I have met through my social media networks. There were 45 industry leaders in the room, too many to mention here but I will mention some of my teammates of two challenges which was presented to us during this particular Monday afternoon. Truly enjoyed my teammates, Ronique Gibson, Marilyn Russell, Lisa Mende, Carmen Christensen, Susie Feia, Christy Emens, Cristin Priest, Eric Schimelpfenig, Christine Da Costa and Katy Garrett.
Although we did not win the challenges (business and design challenges), we worked well as a team and we all walked away with fond memories of the event which was sponsored by Mr. Steam, Blanco America, 20-20 Technology, and Walker Zanger. Much gratitude to all.
After 4 1/2 hours of deliberations and fun, we were whisked away to see the Poggenpohl and Sub-zero installations in one of the premier Residences of Mandarin Oriental. Below, you will find renderings of Anne Kramer, who is the Poggenpohl Kitchen Designer on the project and photos of the interiors designed by LEED designer, Bruce Anderson of Anderson Environmental Design.
Also, allow me to show you a peak at the sneak preview party of these residences.
To top off the day, I attended the opening night celebration of KBIS. THE PARTY was held at Tryst Nightclub, Wynn, Las Vegas. This is a great way to kick off an event and kudos to The NKBA for such a fabulous job and to the sponsors Danze, Franke, and Kohler. What a party, it was!!
So now, I hope I’ve whetted your appetite for next year’s KBIS! Make sure to follow my product highlights from the KBIS2014 floor.
